About Rachael

Rachael founded her first company, Afrocenchix, at just 18, scaling it from inception to international success - raising over $2 million in investment and earning numerous accolades, including the WeWork Global Creator Award, KPMG Black Entrepreneur Award, and MIPAD Global Top 100 Under 40 before exiting in 2023. Today, she runs three small businesses while serving as a trustee for Stage One and Vice Chair of British Mensa.

A sought-after keynote speaker and consultant, Rachael empowers entrepreneurs and corporate professionals to lead with empathy and authenticity. She has delivered talks and chaired panels for global organisations, including Google, Jaguar Land Rover, Meta, and HSBC, covering topics such as ethics and sustainability, brand storytelling, and work-life harmony.

Beyond business, Rachael is a published writer, with her work appearing in HuffPost, Business Insider, Healthline, The Voice, and Black Ballad. She also writes a newsletter 'The Work-Life Harmony Method' with over 25,000 readers. Her published contributions include chapters and features in books such as Side Hustle in Progress (HarperCollins), Slay in Your Lane (HarperCollins), Superheroes (Merky Books, Penguin), A Quick Ting On: The Black Girl Afro (Jacaranda Books, Hachette), Grown (Bloomsbury Publishing), and How to Make Money (HarperCollins).

As well as non-fiction, Rachael writes science fiction, fantasy, and speculative fiction, using these genres to explore culture, identity, and belonging by drawing inspiration from her Ghanaian and Dutch heritage and upbringing in London.

Rachael lives in London with her teacher husband & four young children. When she's not running businesses, consulting, delivering keynotes, volunteering or serving on boards, Rachael does karate, bakes, codes, plays guitar, paints, lifts weight & writes fiction (she developed her time optimisation frameworks to fit in her many interests!)
